Once again . . . that ole 900 miles separates us from spending a birthday with one of our girls.  :(  Hannahbell turned 4 on March 20th!  We met up online as we did with big sister.  We did kinda the same theme.  I had a sign waiting in front of the camera when Mom answered our Skype call:

Then when we moved the Happy Birthday sign, there was a cupcake (this time a banana muffin!) with candles in it for Hannah to blow out –  from across the miles.

We talked and she told us about her day and showed us the presents she received.

Abby came in and said hello.

Hannah is opening our present here.

Here she is showing us another gift.  :)  She likes her new doll.

She’s waving by with Mom,  by this time, Hannah was ready to go play with her new toys.

Happy 4th Birthday Hannah!  Grandpa and Grandma Mac love you!!!

Alas, the 900 miles makes it impossible for us to be with Abby on her 6th birthday.  This makes me very sad. But it is what it is.  Her daddy is doing a great job providing for her and her family.  I can’t ask for any more.

Thank goodness for technology.  When Steve was in Turkey in 1972, all we had was snail mail and one phone call – (that I missed -I didn’t know he was going to call and I wasn’t home) – for one whole year.  Now we have cell phones and SKYPE.  Yes, Skype is a wonderful piece of technology.  At least if I can’t be there, I can at least see them all on Skype!

When we logged in and called Abby, we surprised her with a Happy Birthday sign while we sung the Happy Birthday song!

then when we moved the sign, we had six candles lit and told her to blow!  Yes yes, I know . . . but Grandpa was standing behind me and when I told her to blow, Grandpa blew . . . and it took him 3 times LOL so we kept telling Abby to blow harder!  ”She” finally got them all blown out LOL

Then we chatted for a bit.  She told me about her party.  I asked if they liked the cupcakes that Momma made and took to her classroom.

Meagan did a spectacular job!  She piped the ‘A’ and the snowflake!  The ‘A’ is chocolate and the snowflake is icing!  Just adorable!

Talking some more with Abby.  Mom doing something in the back of the room.  Hannahbell is off to the side.

Here they all are.  Dad is still at work. We called early because Grandma Laurie was going to call a bit later.

hahahaha The girls asked to see Dugan.  [The camera is in the top of my computer screen - so I turned the computer towards Dugan - he was sitting on the arm of the couch watching.]

Little more talking  :)

I love talking to the girls . . . it’s so hard with them being 900 miles away – sigh . . .

Hannahbell is eating a candy necklace while Abby and I are still talking

And just before we say good by . . . Abby shows us just exactly how old she is . . .  It must be a good thing . . . she’s 6 and it’s thumbs up!!!  :)

At Christmas time, Meagan came upon a new idea for decorating wreaths.  It’s a different kind of – uhm – ribbon?  It’s not really ribbon, but you kinda use it like ribbon.  The material is called Deco Mesh.  She made herself a Christmas wreath and then a Valentine’s Day wreath.  I liked hers and decided I wanted to try  making a deco mesh valentine’s wreath too.

I’ve been fussing at Meagan that I don’t have any current – good – pictures of the girls to put in my big frames.  I like to have a big picture of the girls each year . . . but since Hannah has joined our family – the pictures of slowed down . . . sigh.

So, Meagan decided to dress the girls up in some new Christmas clothes and see if she couldn’t get a couple of good shots.  She took a TON of pictures of each of them, but didn’t quite get the pictures she was looking for, so . . . I’m still waiting for a great ‘yearly’ picture . . . sigh . . .

She did get some good shots though.  Here are six pictures each of both girls, that I thought looked fun.  They are standing out by Grandpa’s water garden in front of one of the ornamental grasses.
